On Sunday, March 22, a letter to the editor appeared in The Post and Courier under the name of an individual identified as a Trustee of the Conservancy of the Sea Islands. This letter was submitted and published without the organization’s knowledge or approval.
We want to be clear: the views expressed do not represent the official position of the Conservancy of the Sea Islands. We remain committed to transparency, thoughtful stewardship, and open dialogue grounded in our mission and values.
Upon learning of the publication, we contacted The Post and Courier, which has acknowledged the issue and agreed to publish a retraction in tomorrow’s edition.
We understand this may have caused confusion or concern among our community, partners, and supporters, and we are reviewing our internal processes to ensure all communications accurately reflect the Conservancy’s voice and governance.
