There are a myriad of ways one can volunteer in environmental efforts on our Sea Islands. You can pick up litter, help educate others on environmental issues, and much more.
We recently started using a new volunteer platform called Bloomerang Volunteer! We invite you to join our organization by clicking the button below. Once your profile is set up, you can view upcoming volunteer opportunities and sign up. You’ll also receive information about new opportunities that fit your interests.
Here are some of the volunteer opportunities we offer:
Island Litter Sweep – Help keep Kiawah clean and fight plastic pollution by joining us for our monthly island sweep and litter pick up!
Events & Programs – Help us plan events and programs like Earth Week, Native Plant Week, Shorebird Festival, Junior Explorers, and more!
Stewardship & Monitoring – Join our Land Preservation Specialist and team as we visit our preserved lands on regular stewardship visits to monitor the habitats we protect.
Research – Join the Conservancy staff to assist in efforts relating to the ecological health of the island, environmental studies, water quality, and more.
Restoration & Enhancement – Join the Conservancy staff to participate in restoration and enhancement projects like becoming a sweetgrass steward, participating in marsh restoration efforts, and more.
Marathon – Join the Conservancy of the Sea Islands in supporting the Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Marathon. As a volunteer, you will get to take part in this iconic yearly event by cheering on and supporting the athletes. On top of that, the Resort will make a donation to the Conservancy of the Sea Islands in your honor!
